The Self-proclaimed President of comedy, Eric Omondi has stated that he is ready to serve the one month sentence after getting arraigned in court.

“So today the courts have sentenced me and these young guys to one month in prison. We have been sentenced for fighting the high cost of living. It is also weird that the government increased fuel prices yesterday and these weirdly coincided with our court date which is for the same fight we have been sentenced. I am ready to serve that one month. I know tomorrow we will be victorious.” the comedian declared

On the day in question, the daring comedian brought the Kenyan parliament to a standstill after he protested against the high cost of living outside the parliament grounds.
Accompanied by 15 well-built shirtless men adorned in silver chains, Omondi led the group in demonstration choruses and chants. The police arrested the disruptive group and they were presented before a magistrate in court where they denied the charges and got released on Sh10,000 cash bail.
Kenyans online flocked his comment section expressing their different sentiments over the comedian’s recent predicament.
“Maybe they want to taint your image so that you don’t vie for the Lang’ata seat. Just thinking…” said another.
