Harmonize

In February this year, Harmonize shared online that he has never received a coin from publishing his music for over 7 years.

Harmonize threatened to leave Ziiki if they failed to address his situation as soon as possible.

“Masemango, manyanyaso matusi, kudhalilishwa then someone chopping my my money like that @mziiki you are responsible  to show me a way to get at all this. If you don’t know then I’m leaving I will thank you for having me,” he threatened.

Ziiki has however addressed the allegations recently, terming them as false.

Through its Regional Manager Camilla Owora, Ziiki said that Harmonize has been receiving his payment every month as stipulated in his contract.

“Harmonize is our artist. He has been under Ziiki for about 2-3 years now after he parted ways with his former distributor. We had a discussion with him and he said that he was looking for a company, to help him with distribution and publishing and he said that he saw Ziiki as the best option. We signed a distribution contract. As we continued to work together, Harmonize said that he  he has not been receiving his publishing payment.

“We told him that we are distributors but can help him find a publishing company. He agreed and gave as a go ahead. Before we found one for him, we told him that we needed to sign  contract that indicated that he had allowed us to find him a publishing company and the company would also sign a contract with us legally,” Owora said

She however noted that some of Harmonize’s artists like Ibraah have had their payments withheld because he has refused to sign their invoices.

“It is not true, because every month, every artist under Ziiki gets his/her pay after meeting the minimum threshold required as stipulated in their contracts. Harmonize has been receiving his pay every month but regarding his claims that his artists have also not been paid, Harmonize has been declining to sign our invoices. We have been sending him invoices but he has refused to siggn them. We can’t pay any artist under Ziiki before the invoice being signed,” Owora explained.
