President William Ruto reshuffled his cabinet on Wednesday after one year in office.

The office of the president issued a statement on the matter, exercising his presidential prerogative vested in the Head of State and Government pursuant to Article 132 of the constitution.

The reshuffle is meant to optimise the performance of the cabinet as well as as enhance service delivery.

Moses Kuria who has been the Cabinet Secretary for Trade has been moved to the ministry of Public Service, Performance and Delivery Management. The CS has found himself on the wrong side with Kenyans especially due to  his harsh remarks on the cost of living and the rise in fuel prices.

Rebecca Miano, who was the CS for EAC will now take charge of the Trade docket as Peninah Malonza, who was in charge of Tourism takes over the EAC docket.

Public Service CS Aisha Jumwa has been moved to the gender ministry.

Dr.Alfred Mutua who was in charge of  the Ministry of Foreign and Diaspora Affairs will now take over the ministry of Tourism and Wildlife. He has since updated his social media handles to read the current his current office.

Office of the Prime Cabinet Secretary was also given new duties. Hon. Musalia Mudavadi has been handed the  ministry of Foreign and Diaspora Affairs, Mutua’s previous docket.This is considered a big win for him.

A section of Kenyans on X, formerly Twitter  criticized the move while others supported it as they believed some Cabinet Secretaries did not to a splendid job at service delivery.

“Those close to Moses Kuria, please check up on him! From what he is posting online, it seems something is not okay with him! The Cabinet Reshuffle by President William Ruto caught him by surprise! Moses Kuria is now blaming Rigathi Gachagua and Musalia Mudavadi for what happened,” Alinur Mohyammed said.

@MckPhd tweeted,”Moses kuria, Dr mutua to always remember never outshine your Master.”

Others hailed Interior CS Kithure Kindiki as the only performing CS as his ministry was not affected with the changes.

Moses Kuria has since reacted to the changes taking to Twitter with a photo of Deputy Presidnet Rigathi Gachagua, without any caption.
