Celebrity couple Njugush and Celestine Ndinda popularly known as Wakavinye were left in utter shock after spotting a hippopotamus comfortably grazing outside their palatial residence in Ruiru.

The couple was retiring home late from their day’s activities when they spotted the animal outside their mansion.

Celestine took to her Instagram page to update her fans  about the occurrence. She captured the moment when the Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) picked up the wild animal.

“This is like a movie guys, welcome to Ruiru guys,” she captioned her video clip.

Wakavinye later assured her fans that her entire family were safe as the animal was picked up before doing any damages.

“Goodnight guys and sleep well. We got home safe and everything is fine as no one has been harmed. No one has gotten bitten or eaten,” she said.

In a video shared earlier, the hippopotamus had been spotted wondering around the Ruiru estate. Ruiru residents however say its normal to encounter wild animals in their neighbourhood. Those filming the animal weren’t scared at all.

Hippos are herbivorous by nature, but they are also very aggressive animals. According to a National Geographic report, they are ranked among Africa’s most dangerous animals and third largest animals, after Elephants and white rhinos.

Due to their aggressive nature, hippopotamus are considered Africa’s deadliest animals with a record of killing at least 3,000 people each year. They are highly territorial animals that would kill at first instinct anyone or any animal that crosses over to their territory.
