Aston Villa beat defending champions Manchester City to move into the third place on the Premier League table. Aston Villa have now extended their home winning streak to 14 games in a row.

Villa scored the only goal of the game when Leon Bailey hit the back of the net in the 74th minute.

The Citizens who were without Jack Grealish and Rodri due to suspensions, have only won three league games, recording three loses and three draws in the process. The last year’s treble winners currently sit fourth on the table, six points behind league leaders Arsenal.

Manchester United played Chelsea at Old Trafford in a match that saw them record a 2-1 win. Man United who dropped Marcus Rashford after poor performance against Newcastle United in their previous match, took the lead in the 19th minute thanks to Scot Mc Tominay’s strike.

Cole Palmer equalized for the Blues in the dying minutes of the first half after receiving an assist from Mykhailo Mudryk. United scored the winning goal of the game in the 69th minute after Scot headed home a wonderful ball from Alejandro Garnacho. The red devils climbed up the table to sixth position, only three points behind City, while the Blues retain their 10th spot.

Liverpool managed to collect all the three points in their match against Sheffield United, Virgil van Djik put Liverpool a head in the 37th minute of the game. The reds dominated the game but had to wait until the last minute to score another goal, this time from Dominik Szoboszlai. It was Chris Wilder’s first defeat in charge and the 12th for the Blades who currently sit at the bottom of the table.

Fulham thrashed Nottingham Forest 5-0 thanks to braces from Alex Iwobi and Raul Jimenez, and a goal from Tom Cairney. Brighton came from behind to beat Brentford 2-1 in their home match with goals from Pascal Gross and Jack Hinshelwood.

Bournemouth had a comfortable 2-0 win against home team Crystal palace. Newcastle visit Everton while Tottenham host West Ham later in the night.
