Meru County Governor Kawira Mwangaza’s impeachment has faced a new challenge barely a week after Meru High Court suspended her impeachment proceedings.

Governor Mwangaza has faced another blow after Meru County Assembly Minority whip Dennis Kiogora filed a fresh notice of motion for her impeachment.

Kiogora is expected to prosecute the motion within the next seven days’ following the MCAs vote that saw the Assembly’s Calendar altered by moving the adjournment date by two weeks.

The initial impeachment proceedings were lifted after the Meru High Court judge ruled that the MCAs had not followed the right procedure which resulted to violation governor’s right.

She is accused of illegal appointments, nepotism, unlawful dismissals, usurpation of constitutional and misleading campaigns against other leaders.
