The draw for this season’s FA has been done with English Premier League Clubs getting involved. Normally EPL Clubs participating in the FA join the participating non-league clubs in the third round of the tournament.

Having done the draw we take a look at how teams will face each other. Manchester city will be facing second tier club Huddersfield Town. Man city were last season’s FA cup champions after beating rivals Manchester United 2-1 at Wembley stadium.

Neighbours Manchester United have been drawn away in a domestic cup tie for the very first time since 2021 and they will be facing League one side Wigan Athletic. The last time Man Utd faced wigan in the FA they won 4-0 to advance to the Semi-finals.

Newcastle will be travelling to Sunderland City to face their fierce rivals. The magpies will be playing against the championship side in the Tyne Wear derby since 2016.

Four matches have been drawn to be played between premier League clubs. League leaders Arsenal will be facing Liverpool as Tottenham Hotspurs play Burnley. Crystal Palace will play against Everton while Brentford invite Wolverhampton Wanderers at the GTech Community Stadium.

Luton Town are scheduled to play Bolton Wanderers while Bournemouth play against Queens Park Rangers. Fulham will be hosting Rotherham United at the Craven Cottage Stadium as their neighbours Chelsea play against Preston North End.

Other London based Club, West ham United will be playing against Bristol City while Aston Villa pay a visit to Middlesbrough. Brighton will take on Stoke City as Sheffield United play Cardiff City. Nottingham Forest will play against any team that will emerge the winner in a match between Blackpool and Forest Green. The third round commences on the first weekend of January 2024.
