Veteran Citizen TV journalist Yvonne Okwara recently landed a plum job with  a non-governmental organisation (NGO).

Enactus Kenya announced that Okwara will be joining them as the chair of the advisory council on a four year term.

In her statement after the appointment, Yvonne said that she had been with the council since 2017 and its now her responsibility to re-energise it following the effects of Covid pandemic.

“Enactus partners with 33 universities , both public and private, and has impacted the lives of over 7000 graduates. I have been with the council since 2017 and have seen first hand the importance of empowering young people to innovate and connecting them with markets. It is now my greatest honour and responsibility to Chair the council and reinvigorate it following the slump in activities during the COVID 19 pandemic,” she said

She was however forced to clarify if the appointment will see her quit Citizen TV. Okwara said that she is still a journalist and will her fans will still see her on TV.

“Oh and I’m still a journalist and serving in my current role, so you’ll still see me on TV! I intend to use my strengths, networks and platform to advance the work we’ve already been doing across the country! So help me God!” she wrote
