Johnstone Sakaja, the current Nairobi governor has come under fire from Kenyans online after his announcement that hawking in the Central Business District (CBD) was banned.
According to Kenyans online, the move by the county government was one made in preparation for the visit of King Charles.
His Majesty is expected to jet into the country accompanied by his wife Camilla from 31st October to 3rd November. His visit, the palace said, is one made to celebrate how far the two countries have come since Kenya gained her independence.
Netizens however, argued that after their royal highnesses visit is over business for the hawkwers will be back as usual.
They hilariously likened the whole saga to an African household that reserves the best things including cutlery and beddings for the visitors only.

The former nominated lawmaker is not the only leader seeing to it that the royals enjoy their stay.
The president, William Ruto was pictured yesterday evening inspecting the recently renovated Uhuru Gardens where their Majesties will lay a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Warriors at Uhuru Gardens, as a way of paying their respects to the site of Kenya’s declaration of independence in 1963.
This significant visit coincides with Kenya’s preparations to celebrate 60 years of independence.
It marks the first visit by His Majesty to a Commonwealth nation since ascending to the the throne and holds sentimental significance as Queen Elizabeth II became queen in the middle of her visit to Nyeri,kenya.
President Ruto accompanied by various leaders inspected the gardens yesterday.
