Rapper Stevo Simple is the latest Kenyan artist to speak about the issue of Tanzanian artists dominating the music streaming platforms in Kenya.

Stevo denied claims that Kenyan artists have become lazy and that’s why their Tanzanian counterparts were outshining them. While likening himself to Diamond, Stevo urged Kenyan artists to work harder and also sing meaningful and decent songs.

Wasanii wa Kenya  pia watie bidii waache kuimba ngoma ambazo hazileti shangwe,” he said in an interview with 2mbili TV.

At the same time, he addressed the issue of his former management withholding his social media accounts. Stevo said that MIB is yet to surrender the accounts since there are debts that need to be cleared. He also admitted that the accounts were opened by the management but there was agreement that they would be given to him incase he parts ways with them.

Nikishapewa nitaachilia ngoma. Nimetry kuwareach out so wanasema kulikuwa na madeni ya directors na producers. Nilikuwa nimeomba izo ngoma ambazo ziko kwa hio channel wachukue revenue waniachie account. Accounts ni management walinifungulia wakasema kama kuna makosa yoyote yatatokea watanipatia accounts,” he said

He further explained why he decided to manage himself after partying ways with Men In Business.

“Manager wanakuja kwa upole halafu hapo katikati wanakuja kugeuka sasa nikasema wacha nikae pekee yangu kwanza nione the way forward.  Kama sitaweza pekee yangu, next year nitahitaji manager,” the rapper said.
