Rigathi Gachagua, Kenya’s deputy president has come to the defense of William Ruto after Kenyans online criticized the president’s numerous trips overseas.
Speaking to citizens during a project launch that saw the President’s attendance, Gachagua blasted those who questioned the president’s trips.
He explained that Ruto did not partake in pleasure trips instead, his visits remained work-related since he had obligations to fullfill to Kenyans.
”Na rais kuna wale wanakupigia kelele ati unatembea sana, ati unaenda kila nchi unaenda kufanya nini. Tunataka kuambia hawa matunda ya rais kutembea kila mahali duniani imepatikana hapa kwa hii Kisiwa”’ Gachagua said in part.
The former Mathira Member of Parliament encouraged the President to continue taking trips anywhere in the world since the advantages of his prior visits overseas were already visible as investors had started knocking on Kenya’s market.
”Na rais we want to encourage you to continue going anywhere in the world. Pahali popote utapata Wakenya watafaidika.Wewe ulichaguliwa ukapewa mamlaka ya kuwasaidia wakenya na kuwainua kiuchumi ukiona umerikani ndio wakenya watapata usaidizi panda ndege utuletee matunda” Gachagua stated.
Gachagua further claimed that the current government found a dilapidated economy and as such the country needed help to solve its financial problems since it was not in a position to do it alone.
”Saa ile rais amefika pale amepata uchumi kama imezoroteka hatuna jawabu kama Kenya ya kutatua peke yetu. Lazima rais atembee kila mahali”
