Controversial preacher James Maina Ng’ang’a of Neno Evangelism has advised his congregants against going for expensive phones.
During a sermon, Ng’ang’a said that it is stupid for someone to go for an expensive phone because all their attention will be drawn to the phone always.
“Utaendaje kununua simu ya elfu ishirini, ukopeshwe na safaricom uwe unalipa kila siku unless you are stupid. Simu ya shilingi elfu 20. Ukitembea itabidi akili zako ziwe kwa hio simu,” the preacher told his followers who were keenly following the preaching.
Ng’ang’a however went ahead and bragged about his expensive phone, saying he was forced to get it because of his class.
“Hii yangu ni ya 240,000. Nilipewa na mtu 160k ninune simu basi nikaongeza sasa hii simu pastor unataka kununua ya nini? Unajua mimi hata situamiangi simu, mimi ni WhatsApp, Facebook na YouTube, hizo zingine situmiangi. Lakini kwasababu ya class yangu, tukienda pale naweka hapo kwa meza,” he said.
