As the World marks International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women Nairobi county gender-based violence coordinator Roselyn Mukabana has highlighted hospitals in which victims can seek treatment from.

”They include Mama Lucy Kibaki and Mbagathi hospitals, Dandora 2 Hospital, Kasarani and Mukuru health centres, the Eastleigh hospital which has partnered with the Medicins San Frontiers to help in catering to survivors. she revealed.

Mukabana assured the public of the saftey and competence of these hospitals in relation to sexual violence.

“These hospitals have integrated Gender Based Violence services, creating awareness to the community and health care workers about how to manage survivors, recovery and assist with filling complaints to the Police,” she stated.

She further revealed that her docket will be conducting 16 days of activism from 25th November to 10th December which will focus on raising awareness towards ending sexual violence against women.

“Nairobi county continues to sensitize women and girls on the dangers of sexual violence as it prepares to mark the 16 days of activism”

Mukabana listed Dagoretti, Embakasi, Ruaraka and most informal settlements as the most affected.
