The former city boss Mike Mbuvi alias Sonko has once again gifted a football team 200,000 to make Kenya proud.

The controversial politician awarded a hefty sum of money to the national under-20 team, the rising Starlets after thier win against Angola.

Sonko spent the better part of his early morning at Jomo Kenyatta Airport awaiting the arrival of Kenya’s under-20 soccer team

He took to his largely followed  X account where he shared his location at 2A.M before proceeding to highlight the team’s journey to the Women, ‘s World Cup qualifiers

”Currently at JKIA welcoming our under 20 national ladies soccer team, the rising starlets back home from Angola, where they advanced to the 3rd round of the Fifa Under 20 women’s world cup qualifiers after beating Angola 10-1 aggregate(6-1) first round in Nairobi and 4-0 return match In Angola.”

The controversial politician congratulated the national team before revealing that he gifted them 200,000 despite his broken  financial status

”Even though siku hizi nimesota sana,I have , nimezawadia our girls a token of Ksh 200k for making us proud. I wish them the best of luck in their next game against Cameroon.” He captioned his photos with the rising starlets.

Netizens took to his comment section where they shared their opinions on the politician’s generosity.
