On Thursday Larry Madowo joined President William Ruto  along with other heads of state and administration in the ongoing Africa Food System Summit.

This is the 13th Africa Food Systems Summit, which was hosted by President Samia Suluhu. The Julius Nyerere International Conference Centre (JNICC) in Dar es Salaam served as the venue for the summit and Madowo was the moderator of the event.

During the event, the host noted how poor president Ruto was in Swahili. President Samia said that they will start teaching Kenyans Kiswahili.

”Inabidii tuwaweke kwa lessons za Kiswahili,” she stated.

Larry Madowo however lightly bashed Tanzanian for their poor English Larry.

”Lazima nitete Rais wangu Ruto kwasababu najua sisi wakenya na watanzania, sisi ni mandugu wa karibu. Tunaongelesha waTanzania kwa Kiswahili mbaya, wanatujibu na kizungu mbaya, tunasonga mbele Kama injili,” he said.

He added that there’s nothing more to talk about that as it is a family matter.

President William Ruto on the hand noted that his Swahili is better than Larry Madowo. He is also  left his Tanzanian counterpart, Samia Suluhu, laughing hysterically after sharing funny jokes about Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Coalition.

“I heard you mention Azimio, Azimio, Azimio, until I got a little worried. Because in our country, Azimio means something different. In our case, Azimio is an opposition party that believes in a lot of chaos,” Ruto said.

President Évariste Ndayishimiye of Burundi, who was present, was also touched by President Ruto’s joke about Raila Odinga’s political outfit.

Ruto added that he later realised that the word Azimio meant something positive to the Tanzanian people.

“But have come to understand that the word Azimio means good things, such as agreement,” he added.
