Actor and Creative Director Abel Mutua and his wife Judy Nyawira, popularly known as Wakurugenzi, are celebrating 15 years of marriage.

The couple took to social media expressing their gratitude to God for being good to them throughout the years.

“15 years later, God has been so good to us,” read the caption of a photo they shared online.

The anniversary post has attracted Mutua a lot of positive reactions, with fans and friends wishing them luck on their special day. They were also congratulated for clocking 15 years as others continued to pray for blessings in their relationship.

Abel and Judy are among the most admired married couples in the entertainment industry and the country at large.

The two met while studying at the Kenya Institute of Mass Communication. Judy was in her first year of study, while Abel was just concluding his college. At the time he was already a celebrity because he was featuring in the popular TV drama series Tahidi High.

In a interview this year,  Judy touched the hearts of many Kenyans when she admitted that she submits to her husband at all times. This might be one of the reasons why the couple’s married has withstood the test of time.

“There are times I have made more money than him, there are times he makes more, Submission is understanding that. We have never fought about money. There is no ‘my money’ in our relationship. If I am in a position to do something I do it because I want to. Understanding there are different seasons in marriage and that whatever happens he is the head is important.”

“Even in the bible, we are helpers. If you are a good helper as a woman, the head will remain there and he will excel in life,” Judy said.

Abel also previously praised his wife, recognising her as the force behind his success.

“Judy is the fuel that propels me to greatness. And it’s not something she has started now, she has been that person since 2008 when we met. Every situation we have been in has been a reason for me to grind even harder. Thanks to her. I keep on telling her that if it was not for her I would have amounted to nothing,” she said.

The couple have a teenage daughter who recently sat for her KCPE exams.
