Form four students from God Bura Secondary School have stirred chaos in the country after they ganged up to severely beat up their principle, Collins Omondi on Friday.

The students accused the principle of mismanaging the institution and embezzling funds meant for the development of the school.

According to the students, that had been the order of the day in the school, but they lost it when they were served sugarless porridge.

The aggrieved learners then went to the principal and requested him to join them to the nearest police station, but Omondi turned down their request.

Seemingly, his response did not auger well with students as they proceeded to rough him up while frog jumping him to the police station.

The officers rescued the teacher from the agitated students and rushed him to Magunga Level Four Hospital for medical examination where he was later transferred to another medical facility for an X-Ray.

The Homa Bay County Police Commander, Samson Kinne told the press that the matter was currently being handled by the Ministry of Education.

On their part, the officials from the ministry of Education in the area condemned the violent act perpetrated by the students and confirmed that investigations were ongoing.

The Kenya Secondary Schools Heads Association Chairman in Suba constituency Paul Mbara also strongly condemned the act advising students to never attack their teachers circumstances notwithstanding.

He further advised schools to put in place dispute resolution mechanisms owing to the fact that they come in handy during such situations.

“Attacking teachers is not a solution to problems faced by schools. There should be alternative dispute resolution mechanism,” Mbara advised.

Focus now shifts to the Ministry of Education as members of the public await its decision concerning the matter.
