Eliud Kipchoge the veteran marathoner has once again been celebrated internationally after Nike unveiled a track named after Kipchoge together with a statue of the Olympic champion.

The largest supplier of athletic shoes in the world honored the two-time marathon champion by ejecting a golden statue outside their headquarters in Beaverton United States.

Taking to his largely followed social media accounts, Kipchoge shared images of the glorious event as he expressed his gratitude towards Nike for partnering with him for 20 years.

The marathoner revealed that Nike had played a crucial role in his career by providing inspiration and innovation and further partnering with him to help bring the above elements to all sports men in the world.

”Twenty years ago, Nike and I became partners in running. Since 2003 Nike has played a crucial role in my career providing inspiration and innovation. Together, we’ve brought these elements to every athlete in the world.” the Olympic champion wrote.

Kipchoge stated that the day he got honored was special before thanking Nike for the partnership.

”Monday was a special day as we unveiled the Eliud Kipchoge track at the Nike European headquarters in the Netherlands, while at the same time Nike revealed a statue of me at the headquarters in Beaverton. Thank you @ Nike for the great partnership, together we run as one.” Kipchoge captioned.
