OfCelebrated Gospel artist and performer Evelyn Wanjiru has revealed the first few signs that indicated that she was pregnant during her trip to the United States.
During an interview with a local radio station Evelyn Wanjiru disclosed that her first ever sign was craving for ice cream something that hardly happens.
Noting that not even a single thought of pregnancy crossed her mind due to her condition narrated how one day she went back to the supermarket to get herself an ice cream since her husband did not pay attention to her request of being bought for one.
”Tukiwa kwenye supermarket naambia mume wangu nataka ice cream mimi sikulangi ice cream kwa sababu ya kuimba infect ali drive akaenda kwa parking lot nkwamwabia eeh haunichukulii icecream mimi narudi kujichukulia ice cream” Evelyn narrated.
She further revealed that he act surprised her husband who knew how she valued her voice and his lactose intolerant nature does not allow him to consume milk products.
The gospel artist further stated that another sign that was a clear sign that she was pregnant was during her journey to the states and a few days after landing.
”Nikiwa kwa airport manze hao watu wote wenye wanani sorround wananukaa nlkikuwa naskia nimechafika rohoo”
After landing Evelyn Wanjiru revealed that she continued vomiting while craving for different foodstuffs after which the wife to her church pastor insinuated that she was pregnant which she ruled out since she was on heavy medication.
A few days later her friend bought her pregnancy test kits which she denied using but later checked only to find that she was pregnant.
An overjoyed Evelyn Wanjiru then told her mother that she was pregnant, and thereafter husband.
She immediately canceled her US tour and made her way back home despite having a waiting audience for her performance.
”I told them I cant do it don’t ask me questions Iam going to Kenya.”because nothing else mattered then
At the time her pregnancy broke Evelyn Wanjiru had been married to her husband Agundabweni Akweyu who is music producer from Nigerian.
The two had stayed 9 years childless in marriage something which Wanjiru says was tearing her down and prompted her to shave her hair at one point.
“I woke up one morning and decided to shave my hair without informing my husband. I was so bitter with God and so desperate to have a child and people thought it was just a ‘New Hair style”.
