It’s been three years since veteran actor Charles Bukeko popularly known as Papa Shirandula passed away.

Shirandula died on July 18, 2020 due to breathing complications that resulted from Covid 19. The actor passed away while undergoing treatment at the Karen Hospital. He was buried on July 20, 2020.

His family and fellow actors and actress have remembered him on his third anniversary.

Jacky Vike, who acted as Awinja on Papa Shirandula drama series penned down her tribute saying that she celebrates him in his absence. She acknowleged Shirandula for discovering so many of them.

“Three Years ago today, we buried our father #PapaShirandula still one of the worst day of my life, but I celebrate him even in his absence, He discovered so many of us, I am grateful! Keep Resting Papsy, Paps, Mzae your legacy lives on!” she said.

Actor Ken Gichoya aka Njoro said that he still mourns his death .

“Three years a day like today we buried Papa Shirandula. Bado ninalia my big brother. Continue resting in peace,” he wrote.

Mary Airo whop played the role oif Mama Nyaguthii in  Papa Shirandula alsohailed praises on the fallen hero.

“Today marks exactly three years since we buried this great man Charles Bukeko aka Papa Shirandula. This man who contributed positively to our lives. This man who loved us as his children. This man who was the gateway to opportunities in our lives. This man Paps as we would call him. I will forever be grateful 🙏. Continue resting in peace Paps,” she said.

Shirandula is survived by one  wife( Beatrice Andega Afwai) and three children. In a previous interview, Awiti revealed that they had struggked gettinbg children.

“In 2006, we had our first child. But before that we had lost about four. The first born was Anthony and in 2007 we had our second born Charlie and in 2009 we had our baby girl Sherry. In the same year (2009), we formalized our marriage,”  she said.
