United Democratic Alliance  party Secretary General Cleophas Malala earlier today lead an anti- Azimio protest demonstrations in the streets of Kakamega town.

The peaceful demonstrations which occurred concurrently with the nationwide anti-government demonstrations were aimed at creating awareness that Kakamega county wants peace .

Cleophas Malala and his affiliates made their way through the major streets and joints in Kakamega carrying placards written on ‘peace’ and ‘Kakamega is Peace’.

“We do not want what is happening in Nairobi and other towns like Kajiado to extend here in Kakamega. We advocate for peace and protection of our business and infrastructure. If you wish to demonstrate to it peacefully as stated in the constitution,”Malala said.

In addition, Cleophas said that the county government is working round the clock to improve infrastructure of Kakamega and other necessities that will benefit the common mwananchi. He pleaded with the youth not to vandalise the roads and businesses of the people.

Malala further request for leniency from the opposition asking them to give the President and the government time and a peaceful environment to implement the Kenya Kwanza agenda.

Butali MCA Kevin Mahelo is also among leaders from  Kakamega county who was part of the peaceful anti protest demonstration noting that citizen s from Kakamega county will not involve themselves in demonstration since they want to focus on development.
