Veteran female boxer Conjestina Achieng will soon be back to the gym to train young boxing stars,

This is according to former Nairobi governor Mike Sonko, who said that Conjestina will embark on the duty after completing her rehabilitation period.

Sonko also shared photos of the former boxing champion that showed the impressive transformation that she has undergone since mid-last year. In some of the photos, she could be seen working out.

“Eight months in the center in Mombasa and my girl Conjestina Achieng looks so good! And work in a gym awaits her upon completion where she will be training young boxers,” Sonko said on social media.

Conjestina was taken to a rehabilitation center by Sonko after her heartbreaking photos were circulated online. In the photos, it was evident that she was not in the right mind of state and her physical appearance was also wanting.

In a past interview, Charltone narrated how Conjestina’s mental challenges began and she slowly sank into depression. He also said that they the illness was not as a result of her career.

“I was there when the sickness began. At one point we were with her in the gym. All of a sudden she went and sat at the corner of the gym and started thinking a lot. I asked her what was happening and she told me to relax, that day she did not train, we went to the house in the evening she took a shower and waited for supper before going to sleep,” he narrated.
