President William Ruto during a meeting with the Independent Policing Oversight Authority (IPOA) at state house today tasked the board to develop a scheme that will see extrajudicial killings come to an end in Kenya.

“You are uniquely qualified to help us define a mechanism to stop this practice,” President Ruto said.

The President further assured Kenyans that his government is fully committed to combating extra-judicial killings in the country.

His orders come at a time when there is a push and pull between the Police Internal Affairs Unit and IPOA  over who should have been in charge of investigating the DCI officers from the disbanded Special Service Unit.

I don’t think it is good when Kenyans die like this through our own brothers’ hands
