Nigerian Afropop sensation Ayra Starr has denied claims of dating her fellow artist Rema.

Speaking in an interview at Kiss FM, the 20-year old was puzzled by the question and said that she had not heard the gossip before. The interviewers, Cyd and Chito Ndlovu, however informed her that she will definitely hear it now that she is in the country.

“That is my brother-in-Christ,” she clarified the matter.

Ayra arrived in the country on Wednesday evening ahead of the Shoke Shoke festival that is set to go down at KICC on Friday and Saturday.

The Rush hitmaker will perform alongside Khaligraph Jones, Mejja and Boutross.

Ayra first performed in the country in February 2022 alongside Sauti Sol’s Bien Aime Barazza  at the Impala grounds, Nairobi. This year, she released a song with  Bien titled My Baby and she continues to be among the most streamed non-East African artist across East African countries.

Aside from singing, Ayra is a model and a songwriter. Music however overshadowed her modelling career.
